Fun with Curlicues

Those who are familiar with my artwork probably know that I have an intense interest in curlicues (or spirals, or scrolls, or arabesques, if you're classy) Anyway, I discovered that flat wire is the perfect material for making curlicue designs. I've been having a good time playing with different combinations of basic elements to create a variety of forms. I especially like the last pair of earrings. They remind me of wings.

gorgeous - i've flattened the ends of round wire for making curlicues, but never tried all flat wire - I'll have to check it out

thanks! I've found that the flat wire makes really nice neat solder joints, and I like the depth it gives the design.

These are cute! And they match your enamel patterns nicely while still being something different. Dig it!

I just LOVE these!! I also love curlicues...if I have a pencil in my hand, I naturally start doodling these. Most of my wire work is about them. There's something just so magical, beautiful, comforting about these. Love what you made!!

Oh and I forgot to add...I love the last ones most too, for the same reason -- they look like wings :-).
