Hi... I live in Texas and cannot get to your classes. I really admire your work and was wondering if you could point me in the right direction of how to enamel bandle bracelets. There are no classes in my area and I have tapped out the online resources I have found! Any direction or guidance you can give me would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks so much!

Hi LollyChops,
I would start by checking out "The Art of Enameling" by Linda Darty to learn the basics. If you're going to be doing bangle bracelets, first of all you'll want a really sturdy bracelet blank that won't bend when putting it on or taking it off. Enameled metal doesn't withstand any amount of flexing or bending without the enamel cracking. Second, you'll need a good size kiln that can effectively and evenly heat a larger piece like a bracelet. Third, you may want to try liquid enamel, at least for the basecoat, as it may be easier than trying to sift powdered enamel all over a round form like a bracelet.
Hope that helps!
