Christmas Treats Part 1

My plans for today were cancelled, so I decided to get a jump on my Christmas treats. Every year I make homemade peanut butter cups, caramel corn, and a couple different kinds of cookies. I started with the peanut butter cups today since I thought they would keep the best until Christmas. I also found a great recipe for oreo truffles on Bakerella. I used Newman-O's instead of oreos because they are both organic and more delicious than oreos. I also made them in cup form since I was already making peanut butter cups and I think it's easier than dipping in chocolate.

In the spirit of Christmas generosity, here is my magical peanut butter cup recipe. It comes from a book of recipes collected by my great-grandmother's church.

-1 cup graham cracker crumbs

-1 cup powdered sugar

-1 cup peanut butter

-2 tbsp butter

-Chocolate for covering

Smoosh everything but the chocolate together in a bowl with your hands. Roll the mixture into little balls, and cover with melted chocolate. Super easy!

This is my cup making procedure:

1: Lay out some mini cupcake cups on a sheet of wax paper

2: Melt some chocolate (I use the microwave)

3: Plop a spoonful of chocolate into the bottom of each cup

4: Roll the filling into little balls and push them into the chocolate. The chocolate will ooze up around the sides filling out the cup.

5: Drizzle more melted chocolate over the top

There you have it! Tasty little candy cups!

Hi,

These look delicious, but there's a problem....I don't like peanut butter :-)

Kind regards,

José

I made the peanut butter cups for Christmas and they were delicious! I also made the middle portion of the oreo white chocolate candies, but burned all the white chocolate...so they sat in the fridge and I forgot about them :(

Thanks for the recipies!

Yeah the white chocolate is really tricky! It burns so fast.
