I got my ferric nitrate in the mail the other day, so I finally got a chance to try out silver etching. The ferric nitrate comes in tiny violet crystals, and you mix it with water to make an etching solution, then suspend the metal upside down in the bath. I think I mixed my solution a little too weak, because it took hours to etch, but I think I got pretty good results.

I love your work! I too am a fan of Thompson Enamel, just over the river from me. If I may ask, what have you used that works good as a resist for etching?
